History

Pinguaud Diffusion is a family business specialized in crafted stonework, founded in the 70’s and which was passed on from father to son. Indeed, the company was created in 1970 by André Pinguaud, the father. At the age of 18, the son, Christian, joined the family firm. Just like his father, Christian was also passionate by the craft of stonework as well as the research of rare minerals and exceptional fossils. The firm is located 70 km west of Paris.

This Pinguaud family decided to craft the stone under all its forms: fossiliferous marble, precious stones as well as semi-precious ones such as the jade or the lapis-lazuli, crude minerals such as amethyst gemstones or the jasper in order to create ornamentation for interior designing or for monumental decoration.

Various decorative items such as turntables, pedestal tables, consoles, desks, lamp bases, statue plinths, credence-tables and countertops are also manufactured.
Amongst the new creations, you shall discover spectacular and fascinating luminous frames which enhance the colours of the semi-precious stones through their natural translucent properties.

Each item is unique and exceptional! Our 50 years old expertise is continuously enrichened and renewed. Indeed, our recognized know-how allows us to make personalized handmade objects according to the desires and demands of its owner (shape, material, dimension, colour…).

The materials used have evolved throughout the decades, from the fossiliferous marble of Erfoud old of 360 million years found in Morocco upto the latest semi-precious stones hand-searched by Christian Pinguaud and his spouse in the mines across the world.
The Lapis-Lazuli and the Nephrite Jade of Pakistan, the Conaline and the Labradorite of Madagascar, the Sodalite and the pink Quartz of Brazil, the splendid geodes of Amethyst extracted from the border of Brazil and Uruguay, the Rubis and Spinelles of Vietnam, the red Jasper of Australia are some of the minerals researched and crafted by the creators of Pinguaud-Diffusion. In order for each handmade item to be a unique and exceptional piece, only the best quality of material is selected beforehand.

Each journey is a golden opportunity for these adventurers to meet extraordinary people across the world but most of all to discover new treasures in the heart of the Earth to then magnify them.

The craft of stonework has been extended to other materials in order to create for example the legs of tables. Thus, the manually hammered iron, the gilded pine liner, the polished iron (contemporary design or modern décor), the rustic woodwork (with strains of centennial oak) and the traditional wood, glass, are also part of the materials employed to accomplish these stonework masterpieces.

The table or the frame, the decorative piece thus manufactured will be “the” unique item that each client would have chosen or have imagined to embellish his interior. The treasures delivered by Mother Nature and transformed manually by Man in such a fashionable manner are a dream come true.
